Floating Connectors: Built to Absorb Misalignment and Simplify Assembly

In high-density electronics assembly, even small misalignments can cause connection failures or damage during mating. Floating connectors solve this problem by allowing the connector body to move in both X and Y directions, absorbing misalignment during mounting and mating. The result is a more forgiving assembly process and a more reliable end connection.

Less Load, More Design Freedom

Beyond misalignment absorption, the floating structure reduces the load placed on the connector during assembly. This added flexibility increases design freedom, particularly when mounting multiple connectors in tight configurations. Furthermore, the mating method is selectable based on board configuration, with stacked, vertical, and horizontal mating all available across the family.

A Series for Every Requirement

The DT family covers a range of specialized needs within a consistent 0.5mm pitch. The core DT/DT-FS Series handles high stack applications with up to 240 contacts and SATA transmission capability. For designs requiring power contacts alongside signal, the DT-E/DT-E-FS Series adds that capability while maintaining the same high stack form factor. Meanwhile, the DT12/13 Series addresses high heat resistance for more demanding thermal environments, and the DT-S Series rounds out the lineup with an integrated shell for ESD and EMC protection.
