Connector Maximum Operating Temperature Guide
As electronics push into increasingly demanding environments, the thermal tolerance of every component becomes critical. KEL Corporation’s connector lineup is deliberately engineered across a wide operating temperature spectrum, giving designers clear choices at four distinct thermal tiers.
85°C: Widest Selection
The 85°C tier represents KEL’s broadest product range and covers the vast majority of consumer and commercial applications. Nine distinct series, including the ultra-fine 0.25mm pitch XSL and XSLS floating connectors and the micro coaxial TSL and TSL-NM2 cable connectors, give engineers flexibility across pitch, connector type, and form factor at this baseline rating.
Series: XSL · XSLS · DU · USL · USLS · DY · SSL · TSL TSL-NM2
Pitch Range: 0.25mm – 0.5mm
The 105°C: Broadest Pitch Coverage
Stepping up to 105°C, KEL offers connectors from 0.4mm all the way to 0.635mm. This tier is notably home to the DW series (0.635mm pitch), the widest-pitch connector in the entire lineup, alongside the popular DT family and its variants. The 105°C rating is common in light industrial and automotive environments.
Series: DU12 · ASLS · DT/DT-FS · DT-S · DT-E/DT-E-FS · DY03/04 · DW
Pitch Range: 0.4mm – 0.635mm
125°C: Purpose-Built for Harsh Environments
At 125°C, the selection narrows but remains targeted: the DUS floating connector at 0.4mm pitch and the JG and DT12/13 series at 0.5mm serve demanding automotive and industrial applications where sustained elevated temperatures are unavoidable.
Series: DUS · JG (under development) · DT12/13
Pitch Range: 0.4mm – 0.5mm
140°C: Highest Heat Tolerance
The pinnacle of the lineup is the JF series (under development) rated to 140°C at 0.5mm pitch, aimed squarely at automotive and other extreme-duty use cases.
Series: JF (under development)
Pitch Range: 0.5mm
