FAS Series

1.5 mm pitch drawer connector

“FAS series” is a 1.5mm pitch drawer connector.
Like the FA series, this product meets the requirements for drawer connectors: prevention of pin buckling, ease of mating adjustment, stress reduction during mating, and high connection reliability.

A sufficient floating mechanism (maximum ±1.4mm in XY directions) is provided to reduce stress after mating. In addition, in order to take advantage of this, the amount of induction is increased to ±3mm in the XY direction. Furthermore, we have created a structure in which the contacts do not come into contact when being guided, but only come into contact after the connectors are straight, which buckling prevention.
The contact concept uses a two-point contact with a contact sandwich, which has a proven track record in our GF series battery connectors.
Highly reliable connection has been achieved by setting effective mating length to 3.4mm.

The cable is a cable crimp type that is compatible with AWG #24 to 28 discrete cables. With a wide variety number of contacts ranging from a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 40 pins, this product can meet a wide range of needs.
The standard product has a mating/unmating durability of 2,000 times, and multiple mating/unmating types are also available, so please contact us for details. (When mating FAS01/FAS12: 7,000 times. When mating FAS01/FAS11: 5,000 times.)
The FAS series is smaller than the FA series from a 2.5mm pitch to a 1.5mm pitch, and one of its major features is that it saves more than 30% of the printed circuit board space it occupies.

We also have a system that can meet the demands of workers in terms of workability and usability, such as products that support hot swap and removal, and cables that can be connected using common crimping jigs.

  • Cable side connector (FAS01), printed circuit board side connector are available in straight type, right angle type (FAS11), and connector for relaying cables (FAS12).
  • Over 30% smaller than the FA series.
  • Guide mechanism can absorb a mating error of ±3 mm in the X and Y directions.
  • Movable screw part of the cable side connector allowing post-mating movement in the X and Y directions to be absorbed up to ±1.4 mm.
  • Highly reliable design with an effective mating length of 3.4 mm.
  • Crimp contacts employ a twin-leaf pinching two-point contact structure that prevents contact buckling and provides a stable contact force that leads to better reliability.
  • Cable-side connector (FAS01), printed circuit board-side connector (FAS11), and connector for relaying cables (FAS12) are available for a wide range of uses.
  • Products that support hot swap-swap (time-hot swap) are available. The connector for relaying cables (FAS12) achieves 3 phases of hot swap.
  • Available in types that withstand more insertion/removal (5,000–7,000 times).
  • Number of number of contacts: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40
